LEGAL FRAMEWORK

This will be preceded by a chart which, based on certain key words (prostitution, soliciting, exploitation, etc.), synthesises the laws regarding prostitution currently in force in the participating countries (Holland, Italy, Greece, Romania, Albania, Nigeria…). This section will be drawn up by an expert, and will also explain in concise terms the different philosophies and polices underlying these laws.
With respect to the traffic of persons, relevant articles will be included from national and international law, beginning with the definition of 'the trade' and enslavement. There will also be a detailed interpretation of art. 18 of the Italian law and B17 of the Dutch legislation.
Reference will also be made to various international agreements and treaties, with general indications as to their context. The bibliography will include a list of sites for more detailed research.
