The Handbook

PURPOSE

To provide a clear, synthetic framework for the phenomenon, and the possibilities for dealing with it adequately through the organisation of networks of community services and projects which are able to offer women tools for awareness and self-protection, as well as building a culture based on reciprocal respect and the concept of equality with the residents of the communities involved.

To also provide aids for understanding the laws of the host countries, and highlighting the connection between the laws and the intervention practice.

TARGET

Public and private social operators; EELL administrators; health and social service operators which in various ways work to build services and projects aimed at fighting the social exclusion of female immigrant prostitutes (whether involved in the traffic of prostitution or not) in the participating countries.

CHARACTERISTICS

The manual must be an easy-to-use tool. It will be organised into sections which will include:

• comparison of laws in the participating countries;
• a glossary divided into two parts (general terms and terms used by the services);
• case studies which explain the organisation and the activities carried out in the two different local realities, Dutch and Italian;
• a bibliography organised by topic.
